The Pentax 17 features a newly developed 25mm f/3.5 lens (equivalent to 37mm in 35mm format). The lenses have received HD (Hante Definition) treatment to ensure clarity and sharpness. The optical viewfinder has an Albada-type light frame and a close-up visual field compensation frame to facilitate composition. The device includes seven shooting modes that allow it to adjust to different uses and scenarios. It automatically sets exposure values ​​based on brightness data collected by the exposure metering sensor.

Half size

The Pentex 17 uses half format and therefore takes two 17mmx24mm photos per frame of 35mm film (36mmx24mm). It also has a manual cocking lever. By holding the Pentax 17 in its natural orientation (horizontal), it takes vertical photos with ratios similar to smart phones.

Seven shooting modes for different applications

The Pentax 17 can automatically adjust exposure values ​​using brightness data from the exposure metering sensor. In addition to the automatic mode (Full Auto) where the best settings are selected by the camera, six other modes are offered including: Low speed sync, useful for twilight photography and B exposure (Bulb) for night landscapes and fireworks. The Pentax 17 also has an exposure compensation dial to quickly change the exposure depending on the type of subject or to accommodate the user's creativity.
