For the 2024-2025 season of our photo club, we are offering an innovative and unique educational formula in Quebec.
Via monthly Zoom meetings, you will develop your creativity by drawing inspiration from the work of the great master photographers who set a precedent in the history of photographic arts.
At each meeting we will get to know one or more well-known or lesser-known photographers. We will have a training/historical component, given by Michel Proulx, which will be followed by a period of practice at home then a viewing of your photos based on the themes and styles learned in the course.
At each meeting you will discover a style and techniques that have been developed by a great artistic master or portrait painter. You will have a brief 20-minute training on the technical, creative, historical and contemplative aspects of photography from this mentor. Then, you will be invited to send creative images inspired(nearly or distantly) by this style of work which we will view together in the“sharing” formula of the photo club.
Peer learning is very valuable in photography. The approach is open and respectful of your style and your favorite subjects. The viewings are friendly and allow for fascinating heart-to-heart discussions between photographers. The members of the group find in these evenings a great motivation to take more photos and to get out of their comfort zone. In addition, the training component will teach you approaches and techniques that will help you progress in your favorite hobby.
Your images can be taken with a camera as well as with your cell phone.
We advocate a creative approach accessible to all and the club is open to all levels of amateur photographers whether you are beginner or advanced. For 4 years now, we have been exploring the “contemplative” approach to photography, even if certain training courses have more technical content. Technology is at the service of creation!
We there fore offer you a “private” photo club that is different from the others in its openness to your creativity and exceptional added value through varied training given by a teacher/facilitator and photo historian. This year's approach also brings a significant cultural and historical aspect.
Develop or re-discover your passion for photography!
