Dive into the essential basics of
macrophotography with Luc Pouliot. A curious and self-taught photographer, Luc
Pouliot explored various types of photography before specializing in
macrophotography, and in particular, insect photography. His work has been
featured in several exhibitions, allowing a wide audience to appreciate this
miniature world. In this workshop, he invites you to immerse yourself in this
captivating world and discover his techniques, tips, and approach to capturing
the infinitely small with impact.
The first theoretical part will allow you to
better understand the technical principles that make all the difference: depth
of field, focus, light management, and mastering the exposure triangle in a
macro context.
Through clear and practical explanations, you
will learn how to optimize your equipment and settings to obtain sharp,
well-exposed, and richly detailed images. An essential step to building a solid
foundation and developing a more precise perspective on the world around you.
The second part will be a guided hands-on
workshop.
Through a series of practical exercises, you
will experiment with key macrophotography techniques: controlling depth of
field, different focusing approaches, and an introduction to focus stacking.
You will observe, test, and adjust your settings in real-world situations to
better understand the impact of each technical decision. This workshop will
allow you to consolidate your knowledge and gain confidence in creating more
controlled and impactful macro images.
